Keller is not worried about re-election

Keller was one of two Republicans who voted for the (income tax) hike. The other, Lance Langsford, isn’t running for re-election. Keller said he’s not worried about any fallout. He said his district has the highest crime rate in the county.  (WTHR News, August 30, 2007)

Income Tax increase to go to fighting crime

But Scott Keller, also a Republican councilor, predicts broad bipartisan support for the mayor’s plan to raise county income taxes.“Taxes are not popular but neither is crime. I think crime trumps taxes,” Keller said. “With crime the way it is, I don’t think anyone will object, as long as that’s where the money goes.” (WTHR News, June 8, 2007)
